The Current State of Sustainable Materials

ZERO-TEX Sustainable Materials Panel

At the heart of the venue, we conveyed ZERO-TEX®'s active approach to sustainable materials.

We introduced a range of materials, including CO2-DERIVED Fabric, GARMENT RECYCLED Fabric, and LOW-CARBON Fabric, which address environmental considerations from different perspectives.

Instead of simply advocating for "eco-friendliness," we demonstrated implementable sustainability by consistently handling everything from material development to product proposals.

We believe that sustainable materials should not be seen as something special, but rather as the standard for the future.

The Challenge of Making Yarn from CO₂

One of the most notable aspects of this exhibition was the development of materials that create yarn from CO₂.

This involves re-envisioning carbon dioxide as a raw material, then transforming it into yarn, fabric, and finally products. This concept is also a quiet declaration of intent for future manufacturing.

Precisely because this area is not yet widely recognized, ZERO-TEX® continues to carefully convey this message through actual products at exhibitions.

Beach Resort Series — Light and Expansive Expressions

For the Beach Resort Series, we developed bright and expansive print expressions, centered around white fabrics that are resistant to sheerness.

While reflecting resort-like scenery and a light, airy feel, the foundation is ZERO-TEX®'s unique functional material.

In addition to beautiful color development, it is equipped with water repellency and comfort, resulting in a proposal that goes beyond mere visual splendor.

Mountain Resort Series — Functionality in Tranquility

In the Mountain Resort Series, we applied botanical and nature-inspired prints to white-based, sheer-resistant materials, creating a serene world view.

The appeal of this series lies in its tranquil color tones and delicate patterns, while still boasting excellent water repellency and practicality.

It garnered the interest of visitors as a proposal that naturally combines both decorative qualities and functionality, rather than choosing one over the other.

Expanding High-Performance Products

One of the highlights was also the expansion of products, not just materials.

At the venue, we introduced items that allow visitors to experience ZERO-TEX®'s functionality, such as high-performance waterproof sneakers that are resistant to getting wet and stuffy, and amphibious rash guards.

Instead of abstractly discussing the appeal of fabrics, by showcasing them as concrete products, the exhibition more clearly conveyed how they can be used in daily life, leisure, and urban settings.

Toward Future Proposals

This time, we also unveiled product proposals with future developments in mind.

The introduction of a hooded jacket with a fan, equipped with functions that prevent stuffiness, getting wet, and getting dirty, demonstrates the potential for ZERO-TEX® materials to be applied to an even wider range of daily life scenarios.

Focusing on environmental consideration and high functionality, we are moving towards more comfortable and practical products. The scope of proposals as a material brand is steadily expanding.

Keep Safe & Go Green

At the Tokyo exhibition, ZERO-TEX® visualized its concept of sustainability across three layers: materials, prints, and products.
From the new challenge of CO₂-derived materials to the world view proposed by the Beach Resort / Mountain Resort Series, and high-performance products useful in daily life.

To convey invisible value beautifully and understandably.
ZERO-TEX® will continue to diligently and sincerely pursue manufacturing that is mindful of people and the environment.
